Responsibility

  • the role will liaise with colleagues across the firm, the operations, clients, external specialists and other stakeholders as required
  • the role will report to the Marketing and BD Director
  • this is a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual to join our Marketing and BD team as the Head of the Marketing & BD team
  • the role will be based in our Bath office however may require occasional travel to any of our other locations or off site as client demands require
  • as the Marketing & BD Head, you will play an integral role in the creation and implementation process of the Business Development & Marketing Plan that contributes to the achievement of business growth strategies and objectives aligned with sector plans and the overall Firm’s strategic plan
  • as part of the role, the individual will report into Management meetings and will report on overall BD&M performance and KPI’s at regular intervals
  • help create and implement the Business Development & Marketing Plan that contributes to the achievement of business growth strategies and objectives as set out in Sector Plans

Requirements

  • relevant bachelor’s degree / relevant professional qualification
  • an understanding of monitoring and evaluation techniques is desirable
  • proven people management skills with experience of mentoring, coaching, leading, developing and evaluating direct and indirect reports, peers and colleagues
  • excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to flex style according to need to deliver maximum impact
  • strong financial and commercial acumen, including the ability to interpret and make recommendations/decisions based on data
  • sound problem solving and decision-making skills
  • significant experience in business development/sales and marketing in a comparable professional environment is essential, including overseeing large, complex bid work. Partnership experience would be preferable
  • extensive business development/sales and marketing knowledge and skills are essential, including a proven ability in developing and embedding strategic and tactical methodologies, systems and processes at an organisation level, acting as an agent for change
