Responsibility

  • the Reservations team is accountable for pre-booked revenue which equates to between 40-70% of the business’ total revenue, depending on season
  • the Group Sales Manager efficiently manages the team to achieve set pre-booked revenue targets, while ensuring the guests receive unforgettable experiences at all State of Play Hospitality venues
  • REPORTING TO: Head of Sales
  • DIRECT REPORTS: Reservations Executives
  • MAJOR GOAL: The Group Sales Manager is responsible for effective and successful running of the Reservations department at State of Play Hospitality, covering both of its existing UK brands
  • ensuring that you and your team are familiar with and adhering to company procedures, including but not limited to: recruitment, onboarding of new starters, individual reviews and appraisals, probationary reviews and implementation of development or performance improvement plans
  • someone able to identify gaps and shortfalls within team performance and take appropriate course of action to combat decline, spot opportunities and train and develop team members
  • working closely with the Head of Sales to produce a yearly pre-booked revenue strategy

Requirements

  • at least 3 years’ experience in management of a central team in high volume sales, events or reservations
  • leading a sales, events or a reservations team through opening of new venues or concepts
  • experience in launching or assisting with creating new bookings systems
  • proven experience in developing action plans to drive sales, with evident results
  • experience in understanding hospitality venues’ profit & loss financial plans / budgets and how pre-booked revenue contributes to these
  • strong knowledge or understanding of the Collins bookings system and any other reservations systems
