Responsibility

  • to use cleaning materials as instructed by the appropriate person in charge
  • to operate cleaning machinery in cleaning soft and hard surfaces, e.g. vacuum cleaners and polishers/ buffers
  • to clean designated areas of the school to the highest possible standards
  • to be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
  • to undertake the cleaning of designated areas of the school and in the designated time. The designated areas to be cleaned will vary according to need and will be advised by the Site Manager as appropriate
  • comply with any reasonable request from the trust board/CEO/HT to undertake work of a similar level to that which is not specified in this job description
  • variation may also occur to the duties and responsibilities without changing the general character of the post
  • report all defects/hazards must be immediately reported to Site Supervisor

Responsibility

  • ensuring that a safe, effective and efficient laboratory technical service is provided for use by students and teaching staff
  • main duties and responsibilities are indicated below. Other duties of an appropriate level and nature may also be required, as directed by the Headteacher
  • to provide technical assistance to students, either individually when they are carrying out investigations or projects, or in-class assisting or advising students and staff on the practical aspects of the curriculum
  • to ensure the cleaning and maintenance of glassware, equipment and sinks
  • the safe storage and accessibility of equipment and materials
  • stock control, compiling orders, liaising and/or negotiating with suppliers, and maintaining appropriate records
  • all employees have a responsibility of care for their own and others’ health and safety
