Responsibility
- review project plans, specifications, and drawings to understand project requirements
- conduct detailed quantity take-offs and prepare accurate cost estimates
- collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
- identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options
- prepare and submit comprehensive bid proposals in a timely manner
- maintain a database of historical cost data for future reference
- monitor project costs throughout the construction process and provide regular reports to management
- participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as required
Requirements
- proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry
- strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques
- proficient in using estimating software and tools
- excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload
- strong communication and negotiation skills
- cladding, Metal and Flat Roofing experience required
- cost control: Ability to analyze project costs and implement strategies to control expenses
Education
- GCSE or equivalent
