Responsibility
- develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks
- utilize knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and welding processes to create designs optimized for manufacturing
- ensure designs comply with relevant standards, including BSEN1090 for structural steelwork
- collaborate with the fabrication and production teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective
- work under tight deadlines to complete design projects in a timely and efficient manner
- contribute to the design of stairs, ladders, and other access systems
- produce design documentation, BOMs , and technical specifications for production
- provide technical support to the production and quality teams during the fabrication process
Requirements
- knowledge of design standards for stairs, ladders, and access systems is beneficial but not essential
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in design engineering with a focus on sheet metal and fabrication
- previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- proficiency in SolidWorks
- experience with additional CAD software or other engineering design tools
- experience with AutoCAD for supporting 2D design tasks
- in-depth knowledge of fabrication processes, including welding, laser cutting, and bending
- familiarity with BSEN1090 and other relevant design standards for structural components
