Responsibility
oversee our overall partnerships with external QA vendors, including long-range planning, governance of execution and procurement of services
coach and develop the team on an ongoing basis, with a focus on skill and knowledge development, and career progression
structure, hire and develop a group of skilled specialist QA staff, working with the Head of QA to build out the team
develop robust, repeatable, and well-documented processes to deliver specialist QA support into projects throughout the product lifecycle
engage with QA and development leadership teams to determine and implement schedule needs, plans and requirements for specialist QA services, ensuring sufficient resources and capabilities are present and continuously improving
build, manage and maintain high quality relationships with platform owner teams, helping us to release a variety of submission types without delays or unwanted surprises
stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to QA and testing, ensuring compliance and incorporating best practices into the team's processes
contribute to the evolution of the Splash Damage Development Framework by refining the QA track to include key activities and deliverables relevant to the QA Services function
Requirements
educated to degree level or equivalent, or significant relevant industrial experience
ISTQB and/or PMI Agile certifications
expert knowledge of console submission requirements, processes, and tools
experience working with Unreal Engine
excellent knowledge of JIRA and/or other workflow tools, including Test Management tools
reporting and metrics tools
enthusiasm for developing and utilising metrics and reporting to aid decision-making and measure performance
highly skilled at successfully defining and bring external engagements and collaborating with external partners on shared processes and activities

Requirements
A passion for making and playing games
experience in creating first or third person shooters
deep player empathy, and an understanding of player motivation and behaviour
full development cycle within a current or previous generation PC or Console title
A strong, and broad understanding of game design concepts, with an emphasis on game systems
unreal Blueprints, or scripting/programming skills
industry experience in AAA game development in a senior role
experience of people-management and mentoring
