Responsibility

  • advise clients on schemes and projects, helping to formulate a clear brief for successful outcomes
  • conduct feasibility studies and condition surveys to inform project decisions
  • develop innovative scheme designs with detailed costings and project timelines
  • collaborate with contractors, designers, and procurement teams during the tendering process
  • draft comprehensive specifications for a wide range of projects

  • assess existing buildings, identifying defects, and proposing effective repair solutions
  • ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule, ensuring client satisfaction

Education

  • advise clients on schemes and projects and determine requirements, formulating a brief
  • carry out feasibility studies
  • prepare scheme designs with costings, programmes for completion of projects and specification of works
  • carry out condition surveys
  • organise documents for tender and advise on appointing contractors, designers and procurement routes
  • writing up specifications for a range of projects
  • determine the condition of existing buildings, identify and analyse defects, including proposals for repair

Requirements

  • demonstrated knowledge of construction methods and processes
  • proven project management skills with experience in handling multiple projects of varying sizes
  • excellent client relationship skills and a track record of meeting project deadlines within budget
  • possession of a professional qualification, such as Chartered Institute of Building or RICS, or actively working towards chartership
