Responsibility

  • overall responsibility for DevOps - building, deploying, and running the product across a variety of cloud environments
  • driving ongoing innovation in terms of new features, quality and performance, and the software engineering processes the team follows
  • leading and supporting the software engineering team in order to meet our product objectives
  • collaborate with other product teams to identify cross-product opportunities, and manage the technical relationships with our major technology vendors
  • develop an inclusive and diverse software engineering culture that helps us attract and retain great software engineers
  • work in partnership with Product Management and Product Design to design, develop and release high quality cloud and mobile software in order to continuously improve Spica's Workplace product offering
  • run the software engineering "tribe", leading a team of full-stack and mobile software engineers, supporting them in their activities - including helping in challenging engineering tasks, reviewing deliverables, automation and tooling, deployment, and managing the software in production
  • lead SRE initiatives in order to optimise the solution in production, using best-of-breed approaches including containerisation, clustering, the use of highly-redundant components, and so on
