Responsibility

  • support the Senior/Managing Quantity Surveyor & Commercial Manager by managing Value Cost Reconciliations
  • oversee all commercial aspects of projects, including budgets and forecasts, to ensure contract governance and profitability
  • develop and maintain strong commercial relationships with clients and the supply chain
  • maximize profitability of contracts and work packages
  • spencer & James, in partnership with a leading Principal Contractor in the Property Services and Refurbishment sector across the UK, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to assist a Senior Quantity Surveyor to ensure the commercial success of Planned, Responsive, Voids and FRA Works contracts within the London team
  • provide accurate commercial reporting to facilitate effective project management and identify areas of risk and mitigation
  • this role involves taking ownership of CVR/ VCR's, developing and managing all commercial aspects of contracts, strengthening new and existing relationships with clients and suppliers, maximising profitability on the contract assigned and provide accurate commercial reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor/ Commercial Manager
  • title: Quantity Surveyor - Social Housing Planned & Responsive Maintenance

Education

  • GCSE or equivalent

Requirements

  • strong experience in building and maintaining client and subcontractor relationships
  • knowledge of Value Cost Reconciliations and the overall Quantity Surveying process
  • familiarity with Joint Contracts Tribunal and/or National Housing Federation schedule of rates
  • ability to provide reliable forecasting and valuations
  • value for money mindset without compromising Health & Safety and customer satisfaction
  • ideally, experience in planned maintenance, reactive maintenance, or responsive repair contracts in the housing maintenance sector
  • quantity Surveying qualification is a plus, but relevant experience will also be considered
  • quantity Surveying: 3 years
