Responsibility
- inspecting transport vehicles, ensuring their safety and checking to see if they need maintenance work
- organising and maintaining the efficiency of the entire transport service
- arranging routine maintenance of vehicles
- communicating with vehicle drivers, ensuring that they are kept up to date with relevant training and/or qualifications
- organising and scheduling transport staff shifts
- tachograph calibrations are up to date and displayed
- conducting risk assessments of transport systems
- organising training and development days for transport staff
Requirements
- organisational skills and the ability to meet targets
- experience working within a transport business or team
- the ability to coach and mentor others
- the ability to run training programmes
- an up-to-date understanding of government safety regulations
- being mathematical and technically minded
- the ability to persevere with difficult transport-related problems
