- ensuring smooth and efficient running of all computer systems and IT equipment
- maintain documentation that aids support
- perform troubleshooting, support, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to the company equipment
- performing Testing and Quality Assurance work on new and existing software
- initial installation and setting up of laptops, desktop computers, printers, and other peripheral devices
- proactively identifying ways to improve processes and ultimately the customers experience
- installations and deployment of software and hardware across the company as required
- this role would be suited to candidates who have previous hands-on experience in 1st and senior 2nd line support, ideally operating independently as this role does not have a large team
- delivering occasional training to clients and colleagues
- liaise with businesses, vendors, partners and other IT personnel for incident resolution
- ideally candidates will have a strong knowledge of the Microsoft 365, latest technologies in cloud storage, Active Directory and GPO administration, AV solutions and cyber-security
- logging, investigating and resolving customer requests and progressing them in line with defined SLAs whilst keeping the customer fully up to date
- covering out of hours on call work on a scheduled basis
- ordering relevant software and hardware equipment or parts when necessary
- you will install new software and upgrade existing applications and hardware, ensuring systems are safe for use, as well as providing technical support for all users
- we are seeking someone proactive, who can work using their initiative, jump in to support colleagues across the business, but someone who will also seek assistance where necessary rather than struggle
- configuring and maintaining backup software on all company computers and laptops
- troubleshooting basic network issues and escalating unresolved calls
- maintain the company's compliance with the latest security standards
- providing end-user training regarding software, systems and processes in-person and remotely
- performing routine checks and maintenance activities
- carrying out operating systems and application updates
Requirements
- knowledge of Microsoft SQL server 2012 and above
- this is a hands-on technical role which will require a breadth of technical expertise
- knowledge of TSQL and basic functions
