business development

Responsibility

  • expand the global reach and presence of our businesses in Europe
  • this process includes developing compelling business cases with market analyses, competitive analyses, P&Ls, rollout plans, etc
  • in order to get organizational funding and/or approvals
  • identify, develop and help implement strategies to extend the Business Information Group franchise into new more profitable segments of our existing marketplaces as well as new markets or vertical businesses that would provide a strategic fit with our direction
  • steer new ideas and potential business opportunities through this process as a pre-cursor to business case development
  • drive thought leadership and strategy related activities, including overall strategy for the franchise, and will be accountable for all document preparation and presentations about expansion opportunities in Europe, including those to senior management
  • drive the process of identifying, evaluating, building, and implementing acquisition and alliance strategies that can build significant revenue, NOI and/or Business Information brand presence in the European marketplace
  • with Asia Business Development leader, develop and implement a robust, systematic process for generating/identifying, evaluating, developing, and implementing new business ideas and opportunities

Requirements

  • the incumbent must have significant management, business development, operations, and strategy experience
  • experience from a top strategy-consulting firm is extremely important
  • supply chain management experience is preferred
  • the incumbent must utilize this experience to achieve the global growth objectives
  • an MBA or equivalent from a top school required along with 7-10 years of transferable experience demonstrating the aforementioned skills
  • A strong understanding of strategic alliances, partnerships and acquisitions is critical to the incumbent’s role
  • the incumbent must possess excellent planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • this position requires skills in project planning, fact-based analyses, negotiation, organizational development, business case building, consulting, and general business management, which should include experience managing operations, a staff, and a P&L
