Responsibility
- ensuring that all legal and regulatory requirements for example, financial reporting, tax, VAT, payroll etc. are strictly adhered to
- ownership of timely financial and commercial reporting that gives an accurate measure of performance, providing insight into underlying drivers
- playing a key role in the leadership of Sigma 3, supporting the CEO in creating and implementing the strategic and cultural direction

- leadership and motivation of a small finance team, ensuring that resource and skills are in place to support the business through periods of change and growth
- ensuring the efficient and accurate operation of the finance function, implementing robust financial controls and processes to enable the integrity of underlying financial data
- partnering with departments across the business to interrogate and understand financial performance, creating action plans to improve further
- developing professional and value adding 3rd party relationships e.g. banking, auditors, legal
- identifying and proactively addressing financial risks and opportunities that exist across the business, with a particular focus on cashflow and treasury management, including exposure to foreign currency exchange rate risk
- ensuring that key strategic decisions are supported wherever possible by commercial financial analysis and clear recommendations
- creating and implementing a business planning and review cycle incorporating KPI driven forecasting and budgeting models backed by tangible strategic initiatives
- assume the responsibilities of Company Secretary
- take the lead in developing business plans for any available grant funding
- implementation of a business planning cycle including budget, forecast and management account production and performance reviews
Requirements
- commercially minded, able to connect the numbers to the commercial and operational sides of the business
- very strong data and analytical skills, able to offer insight as well as analysis
- possesses a strong understanding of systems and technology, being able to recognise opportunities to streamline the organisation through automation

- A great communicator, equally comfortable in challenging the status quo in the boardroom or on the shop floor
- able to influence across the business to win the hearts and minds of our people through periods of change
- A leader who will inspire and motivate their team, whilst supporting them and the business by being hands-on when required
- solid technical accounting background with an ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification
- leadership of a finance function through periods of change and growth
