Responsibility

  • the Boatyard at Paglesham requires local / Essex-based welder-fabricators to join a multi-boat building programme
  • remuneration is good and hours per week should exceed 38 hours most weeks
  • there will be opportunities for overtime
  • the job is very much a welder/fabricator role - and not suitable simply for welders
  • boatbuilding experience is not necessary
  • the offer is a short-term contract; however, there is a huge amount of work to undertake over the next 12 months - and - for the right candidates - for a much longer period
  • we require at least City and Guilds or equivalent in welding and fabrication with at least five years' experience on either on site or in workshops
  • applicants require good skills in MIG welding and Flux Core MIG welding, plasma cutting, oxy-acetylene cutting, marking out and fabrication to drawings and from scratch
