Responsibility
- develop and maintain cost estimates and budgets for the company’s construction projects, including detailed cost breakdowns, resource allocation and contingency planning
- review and approve new contracts for work ahead of signing, highlighting any potential issues, risks, assumptions and caveats
- monitor and manage project costs throughout the construction lifecycle, identifying and addressing cost overruns or potential cost savings
- be accountable for securing the successful financial delivery of projects by controlling costs, progressing monthly valuations, evaluating and negotiating change orders/ variations in project scope, carrying out cost reviews and agreeing final accounts
- oversee the completion, submission and recording of project documentation and correspondence within agreed timeframes, including pre- and post-contract documentation
- build, manage and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with clients, contractors, other construction professionals, suppliers and site staff to ensure that all cost-related aspects of the project are properly coordinated and managed
- monitor client payments, following up monthly valuations to make sure that payments are received promptly as per the agreed contract conditions
- review subcontractor and supplier invoices, ensuring that they are accurate and in line with contractual agreements. Approve monthly subcontractor payments
