quantity surveyor
Working hours
- full-time | Permanent
Responsibility
- ensure all project team members understand the contractual arrangements
- prepare cost analysis based on project specifications and compile bills of quantities
- coach/mentor and develop assistant quantity surveyor in a positive and pro-active way
- work effectively with the Commercial and Operational teams and any support staff ensuring interaction between them and the site teams
- maintain team awareness ensuring accurate commercial performance, forecasting, accuracy in contract cash flow and change management reporting
- manage and report CVR to senior management
- maintain deadlines in line with works contracts
- maintain deadlines for applications, collection of payments and invoicing
Education
- diploma of Higher Education
Requirements
- ability to take off from first principles
- previous experience in an estimating role in a built environment, ideally covering both fire stopping and decorating
- ideally have experience with Boris Management software
- understanding of Risk & Opportunity analysis
- educated to degree level or equivalent desirable but not essential
- good financial acumen with an ability to analyse complex data and documentation accurately
- commercial Management and Procurement of sub-contractors: 5 years
- construction: 5 years
