Responsibility
- this is a fantastic opportunity to join a global Food Production Company
- this includes planned preventative maintenance, machine modifications, machine breakdowns and plant improvements
- working in a clean and responsible manner, constantly monitoring production machinery and affecting repairs to all services with in production areas

- be responsible for the recording and booking out of parts used and diagnostics of each breakdown
- complete regular machine maintenance programmes to reduce packing downtime and complete relevant paperwork
- as part of the Engineering Team reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that plant, machinery and equipment are capable of meeting the day-to-day Company needs
- identify ways to maximise the “up-time” of each machine through enhanced cleaning or maintenance schedules
- with an eye for detail and a proactive approach to troubleshooting, you will be required to work with minimal supervision and to work flexibly on occasion to meet operational needs
- make clear recommendations to the Engineer Manager and Departmental Manager, where productivity gains can be made to reduce costs and improvements
- undertake basic plumbing repairs
- optimise the use of company resources whilst complying with the company’s policies and procedures
- in conjunction with other colleagues ensure there is adequate stock of spares
- undertake basic fabrication and pipe work duties as required
- responsible for ensuring all tasks are carried out in the allocated work area, done so in a manner to protect safety and quality in accordance with the Food Safety Management Systems , which encompasses HACCP, requirements of BRC, ISO22000 and Organic certification
- maintain the personal knowledge of various items of equipment
- responsible for monitoring equipment to ensure that there is no potential risk to food product safety, or Health & Safety and for reporting any defects should they occur
- undertake a range of routine tasks associated with fixtures and fittings around the Dairy
- work in a clean, safe environment at all times. Monitor work area to ensure the workspace is safe and Colleagues are following safe working practices
- at the direction of the Maintenance Manager undertake repairs to plant, machinery and equipment specified CMMS or whilst in the production area
- carry out repairs and maintenance on buildings, their facilities and utilities, plus all site plant and equipment when required to do so
- undertake routine maintenance of boilers, heat pasteuriser and processors as required, operating within Health and Safety regulations and manufacturer’s guidelines and warranties
- maintain records as necessary
- maintaining equipment on a daily basis to ensure it is fit for its intended purpose
Requirements
- city & Guilds in electrical and/or mechanical engineering
- fabrication skills
- FMCG environment
