Responsibility
- develop key long term mutually beneficial partnerships for the sourcing of all materials
- issue enquiries to the appropriate suppliers
- raise purchase orders as required
- maintain the stock and cost data on the company MRP system
- develop and implement material requirements planning process that incorporates make versus buy, capacity planning, scheduling, inventory, material and associated cost elements
- prepare customer delivery reports by collecting, analysing and summarizing information and trends and use information to proactively communicate potential late deliveries
- review current production schedule to identify all material demands and manage work orders to ensure that all materials are provided on time, to the production team as per the production plan
- adhere to established company policies, procedures, terms and conditions and legal matters that affect purchasing policies
Requirements
- 3 years experience in a purchasing role
- working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment
- ability to demonstrate solid written and oral communication skills
