Responsibility

  • your profile
  • solve complex mechanical, electromechanical and biomechanical problems through analysis of data, experimental design and creative design
  • develop test methods required to verify that the product meets relevant standards, and conforms to requirements
  • research existing and emerging technologies and, where relevant, apply them to the betterment of our product
  • provide technical oversight and support more junior team members in developing their engineering skills
  • carry out thorough independent design reviews
  • collaborate with external manufacturers and partners to support the fabrication of mechanical components
  • support mechanical design activities for a medical device throughout its development lifecycle, including concepting, prototype design, fixture design, design for manufacture and design for assembly

Requirements

  • high competence in 3D mechanical design software
  • end-to-end product development in a regulated field
  • experience with wide range of manufacturing techniques
  • significant experience in designing for manufacture in a variety of fabrication techniques
  • confidence in working with multi-disciplinary teams, and understanding engineering trade-offs and interface control requirements
  • significant experience with detailed 3D design
  • creative but realistic approach to problem solving and product design
  • strong technical communication skills
