• day to day maintenance of all plant and machinery
• conduct risk assessments on all jobs before undertaking any work / tasks
• to install and maintain new and existing equipment, whilst ensuring production is not interrupted

• ensure that the working area is clean and tidy on completion of any job / task
• assisting other mechanical / operational departments when required
• assist with carrying out hands on mechanical engineering routines, in accordance with the planned preventative maintenance systems , to minimise plant downtime, and ensure that the plant operates to the standards laid down in the appropriate legislation
• be responsible for the health and safety of yourself and others within the workplace and comply with all health and safety procedures

Requirements

• had a time served apprenticeship or recognised Mechanical Engineering certification/qualification, or equivalent
• previous engineering experience within a process / factory environment
• to be able to work on own initiative

Responsibility

• to be initially responsible to Engineering Team Leader
• to liaise with the Shift Team Leader to ensure the efficient running of the factory and associated processes

• to understand all factory operations, including steam raising plant / Odour control and effluent treatment plant
• monitor all electrical equipment to ensure efficient operation
• carry out breakdown repairs, as able, to factory equipment in a timely manner
• provide assistance to other shift members, as necessary, when requested by the Shift Team Leader or Site Management
• site Electrical installations and upgrade work, as designated by the Electrical Team Leader
• to carry out routine electrical or mechanical maintenance according to planned maintenance schedules
• to be on call for a proportion of the time
