Responsibility
- we seek a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our kitchen team
- the Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, maintaining high culinary standards, and ensuring a smooth workflow
- assist the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including preparation, cooking and presentation of all dishes

- monitor and maintain inventory levels, assist in stock control and planning, and stocktaking
- ensure the cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces and equipment to maintain a safe, organised working environment
- assist in the planning and execution of menus and recipes when required
- the ideal candidate should have a strong culinary background, excellent team and leadership skills, and a passion for creating and delivering outstanding dishes
- assist in managing food cost and budget control measures, seeking opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality
- keep up-to-date with industry trends, culinary innovations, and best practices, with a desire to continuously enhance personal and professional knowledge
- support a positive work culture by fostering teamwork, open communication, and a spirit of collaboration
Requirements
- must be at least 18 years of age
- must have the right to work in the UK
- must be able to work well within a small team

- A minimum of 1 year experience as a Sous Chef, or 2 years experience as a Chef de Partie in a reputable culinary environment
- the ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- in-depth knowledge of kitchen operations and techniques, including food preparation, cooking, health and safety standards, food handling, plating/presentation, sanitation and food hygiene
- flexibility in terms of working hours with the role including lunchtime, evening, and weekend work based on a shift pattern
- A genuine passion for food and a desire to learn and grow in the culinary field
