allards Hospitality Group is now looking for a senior chef to join the team at our newest venue in Monkseaton
reporting to the executive chef, as head chef you will be responsible for food production, quality, and presentation
you will guide and manage all kitchen team members with a focus on developing individuals
you will help plan cost-effective menus and event catering, ensuring business targets are met
our ethos was to be a small and cosy café, serving fresh tapas and a wide variety of wines, it soon became clear that we would grow to be so much more
effective management of all costs is essential such as portion control and wastage
we are an independently run, family business and strive to keep our offerings unique in a competitive local area. We are currently looking for a head chef to retain our reputation while bringing something new to the table
Requirements
proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a restaurant setting
strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques
ability to create innovative and appealing menu items
excellent leadership and communication skills
knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations
experience of working to and hitting targets, including that of labour costs and budget spending
the ability to stay calm under pressure and manage staff in an appropriate manner
