Responsibility
- we are looking to appoint a Cook Supervisor at our busy cafe based in The Courthouse, Thirsk, North Yorkshire
- key holder/duty manager responsibilities form part of this role and are shared with the wider Rural Arts team
- your role will be central to our visitor offer and will focus on the set up and day to day management of the café within the arts centre, leading on daily food preparation and cooking for up to 35 covers, with catering provision by arrangement for room hires and small-scale events
- our cafe is a warm welcoming space in the community, offering barista coffees, light meals and cakes - Open to the public Tuesdays to Saturdays , this role will be responsible for making food to order, planning, food preparation, purchasing and ordering items as necessary
- other staff will assist with budget management and be available for support - Café staff and volunteers will assist with food preparation and other kitchen tasks as required
- working as part of a small, dedicated team, you will also develop the menu to include seasonal dishes that are healthy, affordable and high quality
- an important part of the role is to supervise and operate all elements of the kitchen and café ensuring that statutory obligations and Food Hygiene standards are maintained
- annual Salary: £23,100 per annum
