Working hours

  • full-time | Part-time | Permanent

Responsibility

  • process and maintain the purchase ledger, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments
  • bank reconciliation
  • prepare and process journal entries related to accounts payable transactions
  • reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues
  • collaborate with the payroll department to ensure accurate recording of employee wages
  • assist with tax compliance and HMRC Submissions of VAT and CIS
  • receipt customer payments
  • assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliation

Requirements

  • proven experience as a purchase ledger clerk or in a similar accounting role
  • strong technical accounting skills, including knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation
  • familiarity with payroll processes and procedures
  • excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
  • strong analytical skills to identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial data
  • ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
  • knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements is a plus
  • purchase ledger: 2 years
