Responsibility
- process and maintain the purchase ledger, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments
- bank reconciliation
- prepare and process journal entries related to accounts payable transactions
- reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues
- collaborate with the payroll department to ensure accurate recording of employee wages
- assist with tax compliance and HMRC Submissions of VAT and CIS
- receipt customer payments
- assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliation
Requirements
- proven experience as a purchase ledger clerk or in a similar accounting role
- strong technical accounting skills, including knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation
- familiarity with payroll processes and procedures
- excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- strong analytical skills to identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial data
- ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
- knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements is a plus
- purchase ledger: 2 years
