Responsibility
- to manage relationship with applicants as main point of contact throughout application process, preparing call documentation/forms, answering enquiries
- day-to-day organisation and management of the Expert Working Group meetings, agendas, participants and outputs
- ensuring agreed activities are delivered on time, on budget and within the desired scope
- to deliver the application, selection and awarding process for defined research funding calls, in accordance with agreed standards
- building and maintaining networks of influence – internally and externally – and setting up the necessary liaison groups
- procuring external expertise as necessary
- to support ongoing improvement in the context of grant-making and scheme development
- working with scientific researchers to shape projects and reports, to ensure that they have policy and operational significance
Education
- educated to degree standard or equivalent Essential
- A good understanding of academic and/or research activities in science Desirable
- A good understanding of procedures and best practice in research funding and/or
- grant making Desirable
- science degree Desirable
