Responsibility

  • set up scientific apparatus and prepare laboratory for testing, demonstration or other purposes
  • carry out routine testing in accordance with the relevant Standards, using specialized scientific equipment
  • prepare specimens of soil and rock for testing to appropriate standards
  • carry out prescribed measurements and analyses and ensure that conditions necessary for some tests are maintained
  • record and collate data from testing work and document all work carried out
  • be proactive in challenging poor behaviour during lesson and at break and lunchtime in line with the academy behaviour policy
  • sample handling and logging bench preparation and sample disposal
  • attend relevant courses and any other training deemed reasonable within the requirements of this post
