- you will join our research team working on quantum error correction
- you will join our research team working on quantum error correction for quantum computers
- you will join our cross-disciplinary team of software developers, mathematicians, quantum information theorists, computational chemists and physicists – all world experts in their fields
- as a growing company, you will have the freedom to think independently and creatively, as well as contribute to Riverlane’s business development
- what you will do
- develop and implement novel, scalable quantum error correction decoders and codes
- the team is a mixture of scientists, software and hardware developers and the role will involve building the optimal software stack across these functions
- mentor and support colleagues in decoder design and development
- experiment with ideas from academic papers on error correction
- you will contribute to development of software decoders that decode measurement results generated by quantum computers that are implementing quantum error correction protocols
- design, implement and analyze quantum error correction experiments run on our hardware partner’s devices
Requirements
- what we need
- phD in quantum error correction or adjacent field
- undergraduate degree in computer science, mathematics, physics or related area

- experience programming in a science or research context
- evidence of creative, high-quality academic work, published in high impact journals
- strong mathematical and analytical skills
- strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- track record presenting research at international conferences
- experience working both independently and in a research team
- passion for translating academic expertise into an applied industrial setting
- knowledge of quantum physics and computation
- even better if you have
- master’s or PhD degree in computer science, mathematics, physics or related area
