Working hours
- full-time
Responsibility
- day-to-day maintenance of the grounds to achieve a high standard, with close attention to detail
- planting & development of a wide range of features - including herbaceous borders, trees & shrubs
- pruning & training, including working from ladders
- lawn maintenance using powered pedestrian machinery & ride-on equipment
- hedge cutting using both hand shears & powered hedge cutters
- work outdoors in all weathers, all year round
- work to high standards, with attention to detail at all times
- general grounds maintenance of lawns, borders, hedges, trees & shrubs, as well as pest & disease control, maintenance of irrigation system, the ponds & other water features
Education
- GCSE or equivalent
Requirements
- relevant horticultural qualifications held
- experience is essential as well as a passion for gardening
- knowledge of historic gardens, old trees and shrubs preferred
- must be keen & enthusiastic with an eye for detail & an interest in taking the grounds and developing them
- must be an independent thinker and happy to work on their own
- open to new and different ideas/methods
- you must be physically fit, hold a full UK driving licence & be happy working outside in all weather conditions
- must be happy to work at height
