Responsibility

  • working as part of the Skills for Life team, you will report to the Programme Manager for Science
  • you will be teaching 8 Biology units on Access to HE Health and Human Sciences Diploma
  • you may also support with providing advice and information about science courses to a range of learners
  • you will also be involved in internal moderation and standardisation activities
  • you will work with your colleagues to ensure high standards in teaching, learning and assessment, and high levels of customer satisfaction
  • the duties will include course planning, preparation, marking homework and classwork, marking assignments, giving feedback to learners and course administration including monitoring and supporting learners to complete PLPs
  • the successful candidate will have a degree in a Biological Sciences subject or similar, a full teaching qualification and experience of teaching biology or science
  • previous teaching experience within an adult setting and teaching on an Access to HE Diploma would be an advantage, although training will be provided
