Responsibility

  • preparation work before painting and decoration can take place, both internal and external
  • removing old paint or wallpaper by sanding or scraping, or by using heat guns, liquid paint removers or steam strippers
  • cleaning all work areas after projects including tidying up and cleaning tools
  • identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair
  • undertake both cyclical re-decoration programmes and ad hoc projects as required
  • to work within the guidelines of industry compliance, working practices and health and safety
  • all types of painting and redecoration works including painting with various paints, varnishes and finishes both inside and outside, including specialist finishes
  • to work according to direction of senior Estates staff, within planned works for the whole team and to deadlines determined by school dates and events
