Requirements
- previous experience of leading and managing an Early Years staff team is essential
- valid Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding training are preferred but not essential
- successful candidates must have a sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and experience in completing effective observations and assessments
- minimum of NVQ Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Young Persons Workforce or similar childcare qualification. Please note that a Health & Social Care qualification is not suitable for this position
Responsibility
- to act as a senior member of staff in the pre-school and as part of the staff team
- to be a key person to a group of children, ensuring each child’s needs are recognised and met
- this includes carrying out observations, assessments, recording children’s progress and planning for their next steps
- records are to be kept up to date, informative and accurate including any behavioural or development needs
- in the absence of the manager lead the staff team and run the pre-school, ensuring a high standard of practice is upheld and daily routine is followed
- A knowledge of child development that promotes children's individual strengths
- to create a happy and safe learning environment where children can maximise their physical, intellectual, emotional and social potential
- you should be passionate about child centred learning and committed to teaching through play-based activities and experiences
