Responsibility
- safeguarding, caring for and supporting children and parents when the parents might be experiencing difficulties for a variety of reasons
- working collaboratively with the wider assessment team, seeking further information, advice or support when necessary
- recording accurate and objective information with regard to the functioning and behaviour of both the children and their parents
- recording and reporting significant information, conversations or events
- listening to the wishes and concerns of the child and family
- supporting the day to day experience of the child and their physical and emotional development and attachment to their parent
- helping parents to enhance their parenting skills by encouraging, teaching, modelling and supporting parents in a number of specific parenting tasks as outlined in the individualised placement plan
- assessing the level and type of support that is required by a parent or child at any time and ensuring that the appropriate level of monitoring is provided for each family, in line with their placement plan
Requirements
- children/Vulnerable Adult Support 2 years minimum
- level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent qualification
- support Work: 2 years
