- scanning parcels and assessing for damage
- autoclaving and glass washing
- delivery of protein science technical support in accordance with Health and Safety and GLS requirements
- ensure that materials with special handling, storage, or distribution requirements are properly monitored
- report any visual faults on parcel tracking system
- ordering and maintaining stock levels of parts required to carry out the tasks
- washing and replenishing plastic egg trays when needed
- to ensure accurate recording of results and methodologies and effectively communicate to other members of the team, project, section and department
- use parcel tracking system to track parcels from point of delivery with logistics to receipt by the end user
- responsible for other laboratory duties including Liquid Nitrogen fills, FACTair testing and water sampling
- weekly decontaminating and upkeep of large egg trolleys
- responsible for tracking human samples in LIMS systems used by Translational Pathology and Genomics Labs
- report any issues to Logistics manager
- independently use sample inventory methods and assist in continuous improvement of our processes for sample handling, requisition, sample
- support any logistics role/area as required by business need/demand Incl Inter-site van
- to be an effective team member in supporting projects to meet their objectives
- relocation of misdelivered deliveries as per ADR regulations
- receive, pack, prepare and ship R&D samples globally ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and transport regulations
- support the day to day running of the onsite Logistics services inclusive of the movement of solvents, chemicals, dry ice, consumables and specialist scientific products
- adhere to SHE regulations, PPE policies and follow Avantor Work Instructions & Risk Assessments
- conduct banksman activities to allow drivers to safely follow site processes and best practice
- ensures own work is compliant with Good Clinical Practice and Human Tissue Act regulations, Safety Health and Environment standards
- liaise with other service providers internal & external and scientists to ensure that all Service Level Agreements are met performing simple to complex tasks
- work proactively with line manager to ensure all training activities are completed and signed off in a timely manner
- inter-change between logistics processing, portering, banksman and check-in duties as required
- work closely with the scientists in the Translational Medicine Genomics group to identify, locate, acquire samples from internal Biobanks, CRO and external vendors
- identify and solve problems associated with sourcing samples and have excellent communication skills in order to discuss and resolve such issues with other team members
- receipt, replenishment, and distribution of inventory to meet end user demands, utilising industry-leading inventory management technology to track usage and continually optimise stocking levels Ensure accuracy of data in the inventory system including location, quantity on hand, value etc
- maintain accurate records of logistics activities
- assist in the promotion of the services as required
- gas cylinder changeovers and liquid nitrogen fills
- replenishment of consumables for the wash stations
- to perform any required clean, part replacement and/or repair of pipettes on site
- provide the Certificates of Calibration and/or the service report to the nominated customer contact within 5 working days

- knowledge of SHE requirements in a laboratory environment
- A good team worker demonstrating loyalty and commitment to the organisation and team members
- to be flexible with working hours when required to deliver the service required to our customers
