hgv technician
Requirements
- city & Guilds, NVQ or similar desirable in heavy plant maintenance
- you must be accustomed to performing light repairs and commercial maintenance operations
- you must have a minimum of 3 years industry experience of a Level 3 S/NVQ working with heavy goods vehicles
- experienced Senior commercial vehicle technician with experience of man management
- additional experience working with maintenance tools, hydraulics, 12/24v electrical systems and computer systems relating to vehicles are preferable
- experienced Technician with a professional track record looking to progress to a Foreman role would be possible
- HGV license holder would be beneficial but not essential
- you must have a minimum of 5 years industry experience of a Level 3 S/NVQ working with heavy goods vehicles
Responsibility
- ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and demanding situations
- routine vehicle maintenance to VOSA standards
- ability to perform well without supervision and as part of a team
- preparation and presentation of vehicles and trailers for MOT inspection
- strong communication skills and the ability to follow written or spoken instructions
- diagnosing of vehicles diagnostic equipment
- capable of following the repair process from fault analysis to completion
- good housekeeping and H&S requirements
