Responsibility

  • respond promptly to emergency breakdowns
  • ensure that preventative maintenance schedules are completed on time
  • work on small projects where required, including design / installation & commissioning or minor systems
  • constantly seek new, innovative and cost advantageous methods of completing the work without compromising safety or quality
  • efficiently conduct corrective and preventative maintenance activities originating from Work Orders generated by the Computer Maintenance Management System
  • ensure all documentation of maintenance activities is to GxP standards both in paper-based records and the Computer Maintenance Management System and that accurate reports are generated
  • proactively identify maintenance plan improvements or omissions, working with the Engineering Supervisor to ensure maintenance PM plans remain relevant, are technically correct and compliant
  • ensure a sufficient stock of materials, equipment and parts are maintained to carry out requisite work. Identify low stocks so restocking can be undertaken

Requirements

  • city and Guilds or equivalent recognised formal qualification in core and secondary engineering discipline
  • post apprenticeship experiences as a multi skilled maintenance technician
  • formal Business Service Engineering apprenticeship
  • broad based knowledge and interest in mechanical, systems and maintenance
  • maintenance and operational experience in the Pharmaceutical or food industry and with manufacturing and processing equipment
  • safety conscious and aware of key HSE legislation
  • understanding of GxP principals
  • reasonable computer skills
