Responsibility
- respond promptly to emergency breakdowns
- ensure that preventative maintenance schedules are completed on time
- work on small projects where required, including design / installation & commissioning or minor systems
- constantly seek new, innovative and cost advantageous methods of completing the work without compromising safety or quality
- efficiently conduct corrective and preventative maintenance activities originating from Work Orders generated by the Computer Maintenance Management System
- ensure all documentation of maintenance activities is to GxP standards both in paper-based records and the Computer Maintenance Management System and that accurate reports are generated
- proactively identify maintenance plan improvements or omissions, working with the Engineering Supervisor to ensure maintenance PM plans remain relevant, are technically correct and compliant
- ensure a sufficient stock of materials, equipment and parts are maintained to carry out requisite work. Identify low stocks so restocking can be undertaken
Requirements
- city and Guilds or equivalent recognised formal qualification in core and secondary engineering discipline
- post apprenticeship experiences as a multi skilled maintenance technician
- formal Business Service Engineering apprenticeship
- broad based knowledge and interest in mechanical, systems and maintenance
- maintenance and operational experience in the Pharmaceutical or food industry and with manufacturing and processing equipment
- safety conscious and aware of key HSE legislation
- understanding of GxP principals
- reasonable computer skills
