Responsibility
- review project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine the scope of work and materials required for brickwork and scaffolding projects
- collaborate with main contractors to gather necessary information for accurate cost estimation
- prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for projects, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
- based in a commercial office and reporting directly to the Business Manager you will be required to perform a variety of surveying functions within a small team
- analyse project specifications and requirements to identify potential risks and opportunities
- conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather additional information for accurate cost estimation
- coordinate with client and other team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of cost estimates
- maintain a database of historical cost data to support future estimating efforts
Requirements
- strong analytical and mathematical skills to accurately calculate costs and quantities
- excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in cost estimation
- proficient in using estimating software and tools
- strong communication skills to collaborate with team members, clients and subcontractors
- ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and drawings
- knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards
- strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- ability to work independently and meet deadlines
