Responsibility
- responsible for ensuring the yard operation runs effectively and safely
- lead a team of Multi Skilled Operatives ensuring they are operating effectively and efficiently in accordance with requirements
- ensure containers are stacked in accordance with the SSOW and correct container is loaded in a timely manner
- lead Health and safety standards
- ensure all containers are inspected and any damage is recorded
- manage absence, sickness, overtime and holidays of yard operatives
- lead health and safety standards ensuring stacks are neat and pinned in accordance with safe systems of work
- create CHE reports for the senior management, providing clarity on usage and recommendations for improvements
Requirements
- full UK driving licence
- experience in a counter balance forklift
- previous supervisory experience
- ability to prioritise and work well under pressure
- coaching and training skills with the ability to identify skill gaps and training needs, developing staff as appropriate
- excellent communication skills
- A mature approach to H&S
- strong team player
