domestic cleaner
Working hours
- part-time | Permanent
Responsibility
- clean residents rooms as well as communal areas
- have good understanding and empathy within the care setting and the ability to interact with the residents
- to maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the home and to follow the cleaning schedules including deep cleaning
- to be fully aware of and ensure compliance with all the relevant policies and procedures
- to fully partake in training sessions, staff meetings, resident meetings as required
- to keep up to date with mandatory training requirements
- provide assistance as appropriate, should an incident occur, or emergency, seeking guidance in line with company policies
- ensure that our high standards and presentation of the home are met, whilst ensuring that infection control and health and safety are paramount. Training and personal protective equipment will be provided by the company
Requirements
- must have previous experience of working in care home or nursing home kitchen as a cleaner
- good oral communication skills. Ability to communicate with both residents/visitors and colleagues at all levels of seniority and liaise effectively
- good interpersonal and customer facing skills, able to empathise, maintain professionalism, display patience and politeness within a sometimes pressurised environment
- to maintain a courteous approach to all colleagues, even when under pressure
- A conscientious, flexible and ‘can do’ working style, able to take the initiative
- confidence to deal with difficult situations and to know when appropriate to seek guidance from the home manager
- proven drive and enthusiasm for cleaning, with a desire to update product knowledge and skill set, where required
- good team working skills and ability to work with minimal supervision and own initiative
