- we are looking for an experienced senior care assistant to join our team at The Chesters Care Home in Low Fell, Gateshead, where we provide care and support for up to 33 residents

- you will be happy to work with the Registered Manager to achieve high quality care in a home from home environment
- we are looking for someone who has a caring nature and is willing to work as part of the senior care team to ensure the care home maintains excellent standards of care and support
- support the manager in all aspects of the home’s management, including taking temporary complete charge on shifts where the manager is not working or during any times where the person in charge of the home is absent
- liaise with Clients, staff, GP’s and other health care professionals to promote good care
- carry out the administration of medication to Clients on each shift in accordance with your accredited training and as prescribed by G.P.’s
- to promote person centred care planning within the home and ensure that care plans are reviewed and updated regularly to reflect residents needs
- to maintain and monitor the health and welfare of service users and ensure that each person receives care appropriate to their individual needs
- as a Senior Carer you are required to provide ‘on call’ support to the home when required and as instructed by the Manager
Requirements
- hold the relevant Vocational Qualification needed for the position
- diploma Level 3 in Health and social care or above
- genuine interest in working within a caring environment
