Working hours

  • full-time

Responsibility

  • carrying out a varied range of gardening duties, requiring a minimum amount of supervision and use of own initiative
  • soil cultivation, digging, forking, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, litter and debris clearing, edging, pruning, seed sowing, bed preparation and planting
  • lawn maintenance and cultivation
  • assisting with the construction of raised beds
  • awareness and practising of Health and Safety legislation's, ensuring a safe working environment for everyone working or using in the garden
  • keeping the company van and tool sheds clean and tidy and tools stored securely at all times
  • undergo training as required and most importantly, you’ll share our values
  • the use of a wide range of hand tools, horticultural machinery and powered hand tools, such as lawn mowers, strimmer’s, hedge cutters etc

Requirements

  • excellent team player with an ability to work effectively with a range of people
  • diplomatic with good listening and influencing skills
  • national Diploma/HND or NVQ or City and Guilds in Amenity Horticulture, or time served Apprenticeship
  • whatever the weather, you love being outdoors
  • current clean driving licence
  • it’s in your blood
  • you’ll already have excellent plantsmanship skills and have worked in a similar horticultural environment
  • enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and always ready to share your experiences with visitors, you’ll be a brilliant champion for our work. You’ll also have a full clean driving license and an excellent knowledge of trees and shrubs
