Nursery Cook Wigan
Over the Rainbow Day Nursery are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team at Ashton-in-Makerfield. We are looking for a Nursery Cook to prepare healthy and nutritious meals for children’s lunches and tea . Working hours will be Monday – Friday all year round. Preferred hours would be 8.30am – 3pm, however we are willing to be flexible to accommodate any school or alternative hours required.Responsibilities and Duties· To prepare meals for the children using our rotating menus.· To assist with ordering food and snacks to support the menus for the forthcoming week.· Unloading shopping twice weekly.· Organising the service of lunch for each room.· Cleaning the kitchen area and kitchen equipment after use.· Maintaining accurate records to support kitchen requirements and in support of kitchen inspections.· To ensure the kitchen is kept to a high standard of cleanliness.Qualifications and Skills· It is essential that the candidate hold the following:-· Hold a current Food Hygiene Certificate· Have experience of catering· Have or be able to obtain enhanced criminal record check (DBS)BenefitsFree mealsChristmas closure appliesOngoing training and professional development providedStaff discountUniform providedJob Type: Part-timePart-time hours: 30 per weekSalary: £10.45 per hourSchedule:Monday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate:Wigan: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)Experience:Chef: 1 year (required)Cooking: 1 year (required)Kitchen experience: 1 year (required)Work Location: In person
