Responsibility
- maintain the required technical quality of work

- maintain good communication with the client and visit on and off-shore assets when necessary
- oversee and coordinate Project team in line with defined and approved schedule, budget, quality, safety requirements
- coordinating and aligning the Mechanical Engineering interfaces between the project phases
- provide status updates as requested
- provide Mechanical Engineering specialist knowledge necessary to ensure that safety standards, quality standards and best value solutions associated with contracted works are maintained
- manage overall Project budgets associated with contracted works
- maintaining an overview of the company’s Mechanical Engineering capability and highlight to the Project Delivery Manager any critical resourcing issues
- provision of technical services relating to the Mechanical Engineering elements of project scopes; with special attention to the design basis, FEED, and EPCm scope preparation and execution, design/safety reviews, specification and procurement of equipment and materials, vendor selection and timely resolution of technical and engineering issues
- attend safety and progress related meetings
- ensuring that all assigned work is carried out in compliance to the agreed budget and schedule
- leading the Mechanical Engineering team, developing design scope and ensuring that all related deliverables are in compliance with the applicable codes, standards, project and company requirements and procedures
- establishing professional working relationships with clients’ engineers and direct partner companies with any technical queries and interpretation of scope, specifications and standards
- required to provide suitable competent resources to carry out contracted works
Requirements
- MSc, MEng or equivalent professional qualification or BSc, BEng or equivalent with relevant considerable experience
- previous experience of offshore oil and gas projects
- previous experience of working for an engineering consultancy or contractor

- experienced in the PED AND PSSR and CE/CA UK requirements for vessels
- commercial awareness
- experience in construction and mechanical engineering
- experienced in the supervision of discipline designers and associated administrative functions
- experienced in mechanical / piping fabrication, steel structures and mechanical-civil interface
- good written communication skills
- proven ability to mentor and coach mechanical team members
- experienced in 3D design and modelling methods used within discipline
- supervisory skills
- experienced in quality control requirements and quality assurance for engineering work
- experience of working within the Oil & Gas industry

- mechanical engineering: 3 years
- 15 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering design in the oil and gas, petro-chemical or chemical industries with proven experience of producing deliverables to budgeted man-hours
- mechanical engineering: 10 years
- budgetary skills
- 5 years’ experience as a Lead Mechanical Engineer on a variety of projects within a reputable engineering consultancy, EPIC contractor or client organisation
- experienced of analytical methods used within discipline including theoretical background for analysis programs is desirable
- experienced In working with CAD models
- excellent Multi-discipline communications and team player
