Responsibility

  • to plan, prioritise and schedule production workload effectively to achieve deliverables, operate production efficiency and within budget and agreed targets
  • to ensure good product quality and reliability defects are identified and reduced to agreed targets
  • to report upon production performance and progress to the Managing Director
  • ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained to satisfy current production requirements
  • assisting with annual audits
  • line Management of a small production team to include all aspects of HR including timesheet management, annual leave, disciplinary proceedings, staff appraisals, training and recruitment
  • ensure a safe working production environment to be followed by all visitors, staff, contractors and subcontractors and to implement and manage continuous improvement to improve health and safety, quality, cost and efficiency
  • reviewing and maintaining accurate health & safety records for the business to ensure safe working practice in all areas of production, including the regular update of risk assessments and Cossh safety data sheet records

Requirements

  • proven experience in the marine manufacturing or similar industry, and/or project management expertise
  • strong time-management and people skills, high degree of flexibility, and excellent multi-tasking ability and organizational skills
  • A proven history, practical experience and good understanding of working with laminating and composite materials
  • line management experience of production team in marine sector or similar

  • promote and enhance office efficiency by organising procedures, handling correspondence, managing file systems
  • handling of import and export formalities including liaising with freight forwarders and maintaining accurate record keeping
  • overseeing payroll and cash flow operations whilst supervising clerical and accounting personnel
  • oversee the GDPR compliance and privacy policy
