Responsibility

  • to be an Optical expert and a “go to person” for the company
  • undertake simulation and design work in the area of LED lightguides and lighting systems and micro-structured optical films in general
  • laying out masks and plates with complex ultra-fine patterns using common design and layout packages
  • owning the full set of activity from conception, design, layout, ordering and inspection and analysis in the area of optical products and masks

Requirements

  • prior hands on experience of designing and developing LED lightguides and lighting systems for an industry player will be necessary
  • the role will require a highly skilled and proficient use of non-sequential ray tracing simulation tools, specifically Zemax and LightTools to establish design performance, sensitivity to manufacturing variations and provide yield estimations
  • optical Design: 5 years
  • you will also have direct experience in the area of pattern design/ layout and generation of high resolution graphic print tools
  • to be suitable for this role you will have extensive industrial experience of over 5 years and a degree in physics/optics/engineering ideally with a post graduate qualification in optics and/or photonics
