Requirements

  • bachelor's degree or higher in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • strong knowledge of hydroelectric power generation technologies, including turbines, generators, and control systems
  • familiarity with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to hydroelectric power projects
  • hydraCAD
  • excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • degree qualification in a Physical Science or Engineering discipline
  • demonstrable experience in the civil and/or mechanical design and/or engineering of hydro schemes

Responsibility

  • analyzing client requirements and providing technical consultation on hydroelectric power projects, including feasibility studies, site assessments, and project planning
  • developing, reviewing, and optimizing hydroelectric power plant designs, ensuring that they meet technical, environmental, and regulatory standards
  • providing technical support during the construction, commissioning, and operation phases of hydroelectric projects
  • collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers, to ensure the successful delivery of hydro energy projects
  • conducting research and staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in hydroelectric power generation technologies
  • preparing technical reports, proposals, and presentations to communicate project progress and findings to clients and stakeholders
  • supporting business development efforts by identifying new opportunities and participating in the preparation of proposals and bids
  • providing training and mentoring to junior staff members to foster professional growth and knowledge sharing within the team
