Responsibility

  • hours and pay: we need you to join us on Tuesday evening. This amounts to 4 hours per week in total

housing officer

Responsibility

  • provide support to individuals in move-on accommodation, helping them work towards independent living
  • manage license agreements, ensuring compliance and timely renewals
  • offer practical and emotional support to residents, including those with poor mental health and substance misuse challenges
  • assist residents in securing private rental accommodation, guiding them through the process and offering support as needed
  • collaborate with local agencies to ensure residents receive the support they need
  • work with residents to set and achieve personal goals related to independent living and housing

Requirements

  • experience working within supported housing or a related field, including license management and private rental support
  • knowledge of rough sleeping, trauma, mental health, and substance misuse issues, with the ability to offer practical and emotional support
  • A genuine desire to help people achieve independence and stability in their lives
  • strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
  • A good understanding of housing-related legislation and support services available to clients
  • experience working with individuals with complex needs is highly desirable

Responsibility

  • to carry out works necessary to void properties to return them
  • complete paperwork after each job promptly and accurately detailing materials used, works carried out and any other repairs required for completion
  • to carry out planned maintenance works in line with One YMCA’s procedures and timescales

Requirements

  • demonstrating a wide range of trade skills in addition to primary trade –
  • good construction knowledge including health & safety legislation
  • NVQ or City & Guilds in a trade

deputy manager

Requirements

  • qualification in a related field
  • knowledge of statutory and non-statutory provision for those with a history of homelessness and/or complex needs
  • experience of managing front line working in a homelessness, housing, health, social care or relevant setting
  • you will also have an excellent knowledge of supporting and developing young people who may have experienced multiple disadvantage
  • an Enhanced Disclosure is required for this role
  • you will be based in Hitchin, but will be required to work at other sites, to support the Supported Housing Manager’s needs, as necessary

Responsibility

  • ensure that purchase invoices are accurately and promptly recorded on the finance system and authorized for payment in accordance with financial procedures
  • reconciliation of supplier accounts to ensure creditor balances are accurately maintained
  • preparation of payment runs by BACS ready for approval by authorised signatories on a timely basis. Processing of payment run once approved on both the bank and finance system
