Responsibility

  • develop and create innovative choreography for various performances, including competitions, recitals, and showcases
  • teach dance routines to students of varying skill levels, ensuring clarity in instruction and fostering an encouraging learning environment
  • provide constructive feedback to dancers to enhance their performance quality and technique
  • collaborate with other instructors and staff to coordinate rehearsals and ensure seamless integration of choreography into performances
  • organise workshops or masterclasses to educate dancers on various styles and techniques
  • maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current dance trends and styles to keep choreography fresh and relevant
  • communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding schedules, expectations, and performance details

Requirements

  • proven experience in choreography across various African dance styles is essential
  • strong background in dance education or performance is highly desirable
  • excellent public speaking skills to engage audiences during classes or performances
  • ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse groups of individuals
  • A passion for educating others about the art of dance while fostering a positive learning environment
