Requirements
- A degree or equivalent combination of training and experience in a life sciences setting or other relevant area
- familiarity and/or previous exposure to large-scale protein production workflows in a pharmaceutical /Biotech laboratory
- extensive practical experience in a sterile culture techniques and recombinant expression systems
- fundamental knowledge of biochemical techniques and familiarity with protein purification techniques and equipment
- cell culture experience including general maintenance of mammalian cells
- the high resolution of our biophysical platform offers an unprecedented advantage in the detection of drug leads
- excellent knowledge of upstream and downstream processes of recombinant protein expression
- experience with suspension cultures of mammalian/insect cells
Responsibility
- the successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of tissue culture cell lines used for recombinant expression in mammalian cells and insect cells
- collaborate with the lab manager and site operation manager to maintain sufficient stocks of media, flasks and other TC/general lab consumables
- generate Baculo/BacMam viral stocks and carry out virus amplifications for large scale-ups
