Responsibility
- to assist the manager in achieving the goals set out in the home’s Statement of Purpose
- to raise and maintain high quality of care standards
- to encourage children to make independent choices, learn new skills, and become active members of the community
- to meet the needs of the children by ensuring that each child has an allocated key worker
- to ensure that staff are aware and familiar with each child’s placement plan, and be responsible for its implementation
- to attend childcare reviews and meetings, and to produce information to ensure the best outcomes for children
- to ensure the successful day-to-day running of the home, and to promote positive and enriching care of the children in the home
- to take a full and active role in the induction, supervision, training, and performance management of the care staff that you hold responsibility for, and in particular, to work with other senior staff in promoting safe practices in positive handling
Requirements
- to deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence
- to be responsible for assisting the Registered Manager in the daily running of the home, including staff management, budgets, and ensuring that a high standard of care is maintained at all times
