Responsibility

  • maintenance Person for Oldway Heights – Family Run Care Home for People with Disabilities
  • perform general repairs and maintenance tasks promptly and efficiently, focusing on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems as required, ensuring compliance with UK codes and guidelines
  • maintain and service equipment and appliances to ensure their optimal functioning, while adhering to UK maintenance standards
  • conduct regular safety inspections to identify and address any potential hazards, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • keep accurate records of work performed, expenses, and inventory of maintenance supplies, following relevant UK procedures
  • coordinate with external contractors as needed for larger repair projects, ensuring compliance with UK procurement guidelines
  • conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify any repair or maintenance needs, while adhering to UK safety standards and regulations

Requirements

  • experience in a care home or healthcare setting within the UK
  • relevant certifications in maintenance fields recognized in the UK
  • familiarity with disability-related accessibility requirements specific to the UK
  • proven experience as a maintenance person or similar role in the UK
  • in-depth knowledge of UK electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, along with the ability to troubleshoot and repair various maintenance issues
  • excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • good communication and interpersonal skills within a UK care home environment
  • physically fit and able to lift heavy objects as required, adhering to UK health and safety guidelines
